The 2015 Chevrolet Impala has 3 recalls, the most serious involving the electronic parking brake, which can leave the brake pads partially dragging against the rotors and generating enough heat to cause a fire.
On certain vehicles equipped with front vented-heated passenger seats, the passenger seat sensor that detects whether a child seat is present can fail to suppress the front passenger airbag. If the airbag deploys with a child seat in that position, it raises the risk of injury to the child. There is also a structural concern: the center storage console latch can fail to stay closed in a crash, allowing the compartment door to fly open and strike an occupant.
