The 2015 Chevrolet Malibu has 3 recalls, the most serious involving the front seat-mounted side airbag inflators, which can rupture during deployment and send fragments into the cabin while also failing to properly cushion occupants in a crash.
The ignition system also has a concern: the electronic park lock lever can allow the key to be removed while the transmission is still in Drive, leaving the vehicle free to roll away as someone exits. Note that this recall applies to 2016 model year vehicles, so its applicability to 2015 Malibus should be confirmed by VIN. On the visibility and comfort side, the sunroof's slide or tilt switch sits too close to the surface and can be pressed accidentally, causing the roof panel to close on its own and pinch a hand or arm.
