This airbag recall applies to vehicles originally sold or registered in high-humidity states and territories, where heat and moisture accelerate the degradation of the inflator. On the fuel side, this recall only affects trucks equipped with dual fuel tanks: a low fuel level sensor in the front tank can stick, causing the rear tank to pump fuel into the front tank until it overfills. The excess pressure forces the front tank to swell and press against the driveshaft, which can wear a hole through the tank and create a fuel leak. There is also a concern with certain fire extinguishers installed in these trucks: the extinguisher may fail to discharge properly when needed, leaving occupants without a working suppression tool if a fire breaks out.
