The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 has 3 recalls, the most serious being a brake system fire risk where loose bolts in the brake pressure modulator valve assembly can let water in and cause an electrical short.
On diesel-equipped models, a transmission control valve can fail and cause the rear wheels to lock up without warning, raising the risk of a crash. There is also a tailgate concern on trucks with power-unlatching tailgates: water intrusion can short the electronic release switch and cause the tailgate to unlatch on its own while driving, potentially dropping cargo onto the road.
