What can fail
The ignition-park interlock that locks the shifter in Park when the key is removed may fail. This allows the shifter to move out of Park without the key, or the key to be removed when not in Park, risking the vehicle rolling away.
What the fix does
Dealer will test the interlock system. If working, a load-limiting rod is installed in the shifter. If broken, the entire shifter assembly is replaced.
