The 1994 Chrysler New Yorker has 3 recalls, the most serious involving the right steering tie rod rubbing through the automatic transmission wiring harness, which can cause the engine to stall while driving or allow the engine to start while the transmission is not in park.
The wiring damage creates a short circuit that disrupts electrical signals to the transmission control system, leaving the vehicle either prone to unexpected stalling or vulnerable to being started in gear. There is also a restraint recall: the outboard rear seating positions lack tether anchor points for child safety seats, meaning a forward-facing child seat cannot be properly secured at those positions.
