The 1992 Dodge Caravan has 3 recalls, the most serious being a fuel tank that can drop from the vehicle and a brake pedal pad that can break off, both of which can lead to a crash. On the fuel side, the tank mounting straps and fuel lines can be damaged by contact with the tank flanges, potentially causing the tank to fall away from the vehicle or fuel to leak. On the brake side, welds securing the pedal pad to the pedal arm may lack adequate strength, and if the pad breaks free, the driver loses the ability to apply the brakes. There is also a concern with the rear liftgate: under certain conditions, the bolts holding the support struts to the body and gate can weaken and fail, allowing the liftgate to drop suddenly on anyone standing nearby.
