The 2024 Fisker Ocean has 4 recalls, the most serious being a transmission software fault that prevents the vehicle from shifting into the selected gear, allowing it to roll away while the driver intends to be in Drive or Reverse.
A separate powertrain concern involves the high-voltage battery management system losing communication with the cabin electric water pump, which causes the vehicle to drop into limp mode and cut drive power without warning. On the braking side, a software fault in the brake module can cause regenerative braking to reduce unexpectedly, meaning the vehicle decelerates less aggressively than the driver expects when lifting off the accelerator, extending the distance needed to come to a full stop. There is also a mechanical issue with the exterior door handles, which can stick and refuse to open, potentially trapping occupants inside if they need to exit in an emergency.
