The 2011 Ford E-450 has 6 recalls, the most serious involving a propane fuel system leak on vehicles converted to run on liquid propane autogas, where a faulty valve can allow propane to escape and ignite a fire.
Two recalls cover the same cracking defect in certain Ricon Corporation wheelchair lift platform side plates: the plates can crack and cause the lift platform to separate and fall against the vehicle's lift door, leaving a wheelchair occupant without a functional exit. A separate wheelchair lift recall covers Braun-brand lifts, where the outer barrier's roll stop latches can bend or shift out of alignment, allowing a wheelchair to roll past the barrier. On the visibility side, windshields on vehicles built during a narrow two-week window in May 2011 can develop bubbles after prolonged heat exposure, obscuring the driver's view. There is also a recall affecting certain ambulance conversions equipped with ASA Electronics Voyager backup monitors, where the camera display can disorient the driver and cause them to steer toward an obstacle rather than away from it.
