The 2016 Ford E-450 has 4 recalls, the most serious being a trailer brake controller that can fail to apply the trailer's brakes when slowing down, significantly extending stopping distances and raising the risk of a crash.
Two other recalls affect specific upfitted or converted vehicles. On units built out as ambulances by VCI Emergency Vehicle Specialists, a backup camera monitor can display a mirror-reversed image, causing the driver to steer the wrong way when reversing around an obstacle. On vehicles converted to run on propane using a Roush Generation 4 kit, the fuel control valve solenoid can short circuit and cut off propane flow, stalling the engine while driving.
