The 2004 Ford F-250 Super Duty has 3 recalls, the most serious involving the fuel system on 6.0L diesel models, where a chafing wire harness or faulty sensor connector can cause the engine to run poorly or stall.
The fuel injection control module wire harness can rub against an engine bolt and wear through its insulation, potentially cutting signal to the fuel system. At the same time, a pressure sensor connector with an incorrect crimp can lose contact intermittently or permanently, leaving the engine without the data it needs to manage fuel injection properly. On the wheel side, King Ranch and Lariat 4x4 single-rear-wheel trims equipped with Goodyear Wrangler AT/S LT275/65R18 tires may have one or more tires with an incorrect load range rating, meaning those tires can be carrying more weight than they are rated to handle, which raises the risk of a tire failure under load. There is also a label compliance issue: the French-language airbag warning label inside certain vehicles omits required text, making it more restrictive than the English version.
