The 2014 Ford F-450 SD has 3 recalls, the most serious involving a PTO pressure switch that can leak oil onto the exhaust, raising the risk of a vehicle fire.
The other two recalls affect vehicles that have been modified for emergency service use. On certain units fitted with Liquid Spring aftermarket suspension kits, a mounting bracket holding the suspension fluid tank to the frame can fracture and allow the tank to drop onto the road, creating a hazard for other drivers. There is also a powertrain concern on trucks built with ambulance or fire engine preparation packages, where a transmission control module issue can cause the engine to shut down unexpectedly, potentially delaying emergency response.
