On certain emergency-package trucks, the transmission control module can cause the engine to shut down unexpectedly, requiring a cooldown period before the vehicle can be restarted, which can delay response times when medical or emergency assistance is needed. There is also a rearview camera concern shared with a wide range of Ford vehicles from this era: the camera can display a distorted, flipped, or completely blank image when the vehicle is in reverse, reducing the driver's ability to see what is behind them and raising the risk of a backing collision.
