2021 Ford F-450 Super Duty

The 2021 Ford F-450 Super Duty has two recalls of equal seriousness: a fifth wheel hitch mounting bracket that can crack and allow a towed trailer to detach, and a fuel filter cap that can develop a pinhole leak and create a fire risk.

Both recalls affect trucks equipped with the 6.7L diesel engine. On the towing side, a cracked left-hand mounting bracket on the fifth wheel hitch assembly can work loose while hauling, allowing the trailer to fully separate from the truck. This recall applies only to dual rear wheel trucks with a pickup box. On the fuel side, the cap for the secondary fuel filter in the engine compartment can develop a small leak over time, allowing fuel to drip from the top of the filter housing near hot engine components.
