21 recalls across 14 model years
The Ford F-750 has 21 recalls spanning the 2000 through 2025 model years, with the most serious recent issue being a steering tie rod ball stud defect on 2025 models where the stud can fail and cause a complete loss of steering control.
The 2021-2022 model years have a high-pressure fuel pump recall where biodiesel deposits cause pump failure and loss of drive power. A prior repair attempt on 2022 models did not fully resolve the problem, resulting in a follow-up recall. The 2021 model year also has two fire-related concerns: a pinhole defect in the secondary fuel filter cap on 6.7L diesel models can leak fuel near ignition sources, and on 7.3L gas-engine models, a transmission oil cooler line can contact the air conditioning compressor pulley, leak fluid onto hot engine parts, and ignite. The 2023 model year has a parking brake handle that can release without pressing the release button, allowing the vehicle to roll.
The 2018 model year has brake hoses without corrosion protection that can leak and cause partial or complete brake failure. The 2017-2018 model years have a backup camera monitor that can display a mirror-reversed image, causing the driver to steer the wrong direction when reversing. On 2015 models with Cummins ISB or ISL engines, a fuel filter shell and nut plate can separate, leaking fuel and stalling the engine.
The 2011 model year has an incorrectly programmed anti-lock brake module on trailer- and tractor-package vehicles that fails to alert the driver to a trailer ABS fault, and a bench seat configuration where two seat belt anchor points do not meet Canadian safety standards. On 2010 models, air brake S-cam tubes left ungreased at the factory can corrode, restrict brake release, and cause brake fade and longer stopping distances. The 2009 model year has a missing wire harness connector seal that can corrode the terminals and knock out rear brake lights, tail lights, and turn signals.
The 2008 model year has three fuel system issues on diesel-equipped vehicles: Caterpillar C7 engine fuel lines can crack at the common rail and leak near ignition sources; Caterpillar C7 and C9 fuel pump failure can contaminate engine oil and cause turbocharger failure with loss of throttle control; and a fuel pump outlet check plug can crack and spray fuel from the pump. On 2004 models, air brake lines routed between the wrong reservoir tanks leave the vehicle with no service braking if the primary tank loses pressure. The 2000 model year has a drag link ball socket that can wear and cause partial loss of right front wheel control, and an anti-lock brake system that can temporarily lose braking at one or more wheels due to a chafed ABS cable or damaged tone ring.
