The 2013 Ford Police Interceptor Utility has 2 recalls, both involving the rear suspension toe link, which can seize, bend, or fracture while driving and cause a sudden loss of vehicle stability and control.
One recall applies to vehicles operated in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, where soil conditions can pack into the toe link's attachment point, restricting its movement and eventually causing the link to crack. The other covers a seized outer ball joint on the same toe link, which can cause the link to break outright. Both failures produce the same result: the rear suspension loses its ability to keep the wheels properly aligned, and the vehicle can become unstable without warning.
