The 2014 Ford Taurus has 4 recalls, with the most serious being a rear suspension toe link that can fracture on Police Interceptor and SHO Performance Pack models, causing a sudden loss of vehicle control.
Two other recalls affect driveability and fire risk. On vehicles with the 3.5L EcoBoost engine, a component inside the fuel pump module can overheat and cut power to the fuel pump, stalling the engine or preventing the car from starting. On front-wheel-drive models with 2.0L or 2.3L engines, a support bracket for the front axle halfshaft can fail, which may cause the vehicle to roll when parked or lose drive power while moving. There is also a corrosion concern affecting vehicles originally sold or registered in certain northern and mid-Atlantic states: the rear exterior lighting wiring can corrode and short circuit, raising the risk of a fire.
