2012 FORD TAURUS Recalls — Canada & USA

The 2012 Ford Taurus has 4 recalls, the most serious being two fuel system fire risks: a fuel tank with a weak seam that can leak during or even outside of a collision, and a headlight or taillight wiring harness that can corrode and short-circuit in rust-prone states. Both fuel concerns point to the same core danger: fuel leaking near an ignition source can start a fire. The exterior lighting corrosion issue affects vehicles registered in northern and mid-Atlantic states where road salt is common, and the corroded wiring can short and ignite. On the structural side, an interior door handle return spring can slip out of place and leave the handle sitting partially open rather than fully stowed; in a side-impact crash, that misaligned handle can allow the door to unlatch and swing open.
