NHTSA 5-Star Safety Rating
The dominant complaint pattern for the 2015 Ford Taurus spreads across three systems. Steering draws a high volume of reports, with owners describing loss of power assist, stiff or unresponsive steering, and unexpected effort required to turn the wheel. The fuel and propulsion system is the most-reported named category, with owners describing stalling, rough running, and engine hesitation or surging. The third notable cluster involves the backup camera, where owners frequently report the image failing to display when shifted into reverse, showing a blank, blue, or inverted picture, or cutting in and out intermittently. Several owners note the camera works unreliably rather than failing outright, making the problem difficult to reproduce at a dealership visit.

By System
The 2015 Ford Taurus has 6 recalls, the most serious involving rear suspension toe links that can fracture on Police Interceptor and SHO Performance Pack models, causing a sudden loss of vehicle control, and a fuel tank that can drop away from the vehicle and leak fuel, raising the risk of fire.
Two additional recalls affect the drivetrain. On vehicles with the 3.5L EcoBoost engine, a component inside the fuel pump module can overheat and cut power to the pump, causing the engine to stall or refuse to start. On front-wheel-drive models with 2.0L or 2.3L engines, a support bracket for the front axle halfshaft can fail, which may cause the vehicle to lose drive power while moving or roll away when parked. There is also a parking brake concern on certain build-date vehicles where the brake may not fully engage, leaving the vehicle free to roll on a slope if the transmission is not in Park. Finally, the rearview camera can display a distorted or blank image when reversing, reducing visibility behind the vehicle.
