1982 GMC C SERIES Recalls — Canada & USA

The 1982 GMC C Series has two recalls, both involving the rear wheels separating from the vehicle while driving, which can cause a sudden loss of control. One recall involves the rear brake drums, where the drum's balance weights can interfere with aluminum wheels, causing the lug nuts to lose torque and the wheel studs to fail, allowing the tire and wheel to detach. The other involves the rear axle shafts, which can crack and break, also allowing the wheel assembly to come free from the vehicle.
