The 1995 GMC C6 has 3 recalls, the most serious involving a transmission oil cooler hose that can rupture and dump enough fluid to cut power to the rear wheels and destroy the transmission.
A seat structural concern also exists: the left side of the seat back frame may have incomplete welds, meaning the seat can collapse during a crash and fail to hold the occupant in place. On the electrical side, a faulty transmission reverse signal switch can lose contact when the truck is shifted into reverse, disabling the backup lights and any audible reverse alarm, which reduces warning to anyone standing behind the vehicle.
