The 2007 GMC Envoy has 3 recalls, the most serious being a fire risk tied to the driver's door power window switch module, which can short-circuit even while the vehicle is parked and unattended.
Fluid can work its way into the driver's door window switch module and corrode the circuit board inside. This corrosion can cause a short that starts a fire, and because it can happen without the vehicle running, the Envoy does not need to be in use for the risk to be present. Prior repair attempts did not fully resolve this issue, which is why it appears across more than one recall campaign. On the lighting side, the headlamps on certain vehicles can fail to illuminate, reducing the driver's ability to see the road ahead and making the vehicle harder for oncoming traffic to spot.
