The 1994 GMC K Series has 3 recalls, the most serious involving a trailer hitch that may be missing one of its required mounting fasteners, which can allow the hitch to shift under load, fail, and separate from the vehicle with a trailer still attached.
On the occupant safety side, certain vehicles may be missing bolts that secure the seat back frame or attach the seat to its adjuster, meaning the seat can move or collapse in a crash when it should be holding the occupant in place. There is also a visibility concern: the windshield wiper motor contains solder joints that can crack near the wiring connector, causing wipers to work intermittently or stop working entirely in rain or snow.
