The 2021 GMC Savana has 4 recalls, all carrying fire risk: a positive battery cable that can contact the fuse block and cause a short circuit, corroded HVAC wiring that can overheat, and tires that can fail suddenly.
The battery cable issue affects vehicles with the 6.6L gasoline engine, where the positive terminal can touch a fuse block attachment post and spark a short circuit that may lead to a fire. On Cutaway models wired for an optional rear heating and air conditioning system, unused blower motor connectors left exposed can corrode over time and overheat, also raising the risk of fire. The tire recall covers certain Continental tires that can over-cure during manufacturing, causing the sidewall to crack or the tread and belt to separate from the tire, which can result in sudden air loss while driving.
