The 2015 GMC Yukon XL has 4 recalls, the most serious involving Continental P275/55R20 CrossContact LX20 tires where the internal belts can lose adhesion, leading to tread bulging, vibration, and eventually full tread separation at speed.
Two recalls cover the same underlying problem with the front airbags and seatbelt pretensioners: a software or electrical fault can prevent both systems from deploying in a crash that would normally trigger them, leaving the driver and front passenger without the protection those systems are designed to provide. Prior repair attempts did not fully resolve the issue, which is why two separate campaigns address it. The fourth recall is a lighting compliance issue specific to Canadian-market vehicles: if the headlamp switch is cycled rapidly between positions more than once within less than a second, the parking lamps and daytime running lights can shut off and fail to come back on, reducing the vehicle's visibility to other drivers.
