The 2023 Honda Civic has 6 recalls, the most serious involving a brake fluid leak in the stability control modulator that can cause the vehicle to roll unexpectedly when auto-brake hold is engaged or cause the brake pedal to travel further than normal before the brakes respond.
Two recalls affect the driver's seat. On Civic Type-R models, the seat frame may have been improperly welded and can break in a crash. Separately, on certain vehicles, the bolts holding the driver's seat cushion frame may not have been fully tightened, allowing the seat to shift or detach in a crash. There is also a steering concern that only affects vehicles that received a replacement power steering rack as part of a prior service repair: the rack may have been incorrectly assembled, allowing a tire to rub against the lower suspension or tie rod end and wear through, leading to a tire failure.
