5/5 Overall
NHTSA 5-Star Safety Rating
For the 2015 Honda Odyssey, engine and powertrain complaints dominate the complaint picture. On the engine side, owners frequently report cylinder misfires, often tied to spark plug failures, along with rough idling, hesitation under acceleration, and check engine lights. Several owners describe the misfire issue recurring after initial repairs, and a number of reports mention piston ring problems contributing to poor engine performance at higher mileage. Powertrain complaints center on transmission behavior, with owners describing hesitation and sluggish response when accelerating. Structure complaints, the third most-reported area, include sliding middle-row seats that fail to latch securely during braking or acceleration. The misfire pattern appears across a wide mileage range, with some owners reporting the issue first surfacing around 100,000 miles and returning well beyond that.

With Injuries
By System
The 2015 Honda Odyssey has 6 recalls, the most serious being a fuel tank with insufficient welds that can separate and allow fuel to leak, creating a fire risk if the fuel contacts an ignition source.
Three recalls involve the second row outboard seats. The seatback release lever can remain in the unlocked position, leaving the seatback free to fold forward in a crash. A related issue affects the seat's sliding mechanism: if the seat is positioned between its two latching points when attached to the floor, it will not lock to the floor striker and can tip forward during hard braking. Both of these defects raise the risk of injury to anyone seated in the second row. There is also a fuel pump recall covering a wide range of Honda and Acura models, including this one, where pump failure can stall the engine while driving. Finally, vehicles equipped with Rollx QRT-Deluxe or QRT-Max wheelchair restraints are subject to a separate recall, as the restraints may not fully secure a wheelchair during transit.
