The 2021 Honda Passport has 7 recalls, the most serious being rear suspension components that can fail and cause loss of vehicle control, and a brake master cylinder that can separate from the brake booster and cause complete brake failure.
The passenger airbag system has two separate issues: the front passenger seat sensor can misread occupant weight and cause the airbag to deploy incorrectly during a crash, raising the risk of injury. On the fuel side, the fuel pump can fail and stall the engine while driving. Two recalls affect rear and side visibility: a faulty connector in the rearview camera system can prevent the camera image from appearing when reversing, and the heating pads behind both side mirror glasses may not be properly bonded, allowing the glass to detach and leave the driver without a clear view of that side. The suspension recall only applies to vehicles sold or registered in certain northeastern, midwestern, and mid-Atlantic states where road salt is commonly used.
