The 2022 Honda Passport has 4 recalls, the most serious involving the rear suspension and the brake master cylinder, either of which can cause a loss of vehicle control and raise the risk of a crash.
On the suspension side, rear control arms in vehicles sold or registered in certain high-corrosion states can weaken and fail, causing the driver to lose handling and directional control. The brake concern involves a fastener connecting the brake booster and master cylinder that may not have been properly assembled, allowing the master cylinder to separate and causing a partial or total loss of braking. On the visibility side, a faulty connector in the camera system can prevent the rearview camera image from appearing on the display screen when backing up. There is also a risk that the heating pads behind both side-view mirrors were not properly bonded to the glass, which can allow the mirror glass to detach and reduce the driver's view of traffic alongside and behind the vehicle.
