The 2023 Honda Passport has 5 recalls, with three of equal severity involving a steering gear ball joint that can detach and cause total loss of steering control, rear suspension control arms that can corrode and fail, and a brake master cylinder that can separate from the brake booster and eliminate braking ability.
The fuel system also carries a significant concern: the fuel filler neck tube and filler pipe can separate and allow fuel to leak, raising the risk of fire if that fuel contacts an ignition source. Note that the rear suspension recall applies only to vehicles registered or sold in certain northern and mid-Atlantic states where road salt corrosion is more common. On the visibility side, a faulty connector in the camera system can prevent the rearview camera image from appearing on the display screen while reversing.
