The 2010 Hyundai Genesis has 4 recalls, the most serious involving a broken return spring in the ignition lock that can allow the car to move unexpectedly when started while in gear.
On the brake side, two recalls affect stopping reliability. Brake fluid in certain vehicles may not protect the anti-lock brake control module from corrosion, which can reduce braking effectiveness. The brake light switch can also fail, meaning the brake lights may not illuminate when you press the pedal and cruise control may not disengage, leaving following drivers without warning. There is also a safety equipment concern: the electrical connector for the front passenger seat sensor that controls airbag deployment can come loose when the seat is adjusted. If that happens in a crash, the passenger airbag may not deploy at the correct force level for the occupant in that seat.
