The 2008 Hyundai Veracruz has 2 recalls, both addressing the same issue: a valve cover gasket on the front cylinder bank can leak oil onto the alternator, disabling the charging system and causing the engine to stall while driving. The instrument cluster's charging warning light may come on before the engine loses power, but the vehicle can eventually stop running in traffic. A prior repair attempt did not fully resolve the issue, which is why a second recall was issued to address the same leaking gasket.
