Hyundai Veracruz Recalls

The Hyundai Veracruz has 6 recalls covering the full 2007–2012 production run, with the most serious being a brake fluid leak into the anti-lock brake control module on 2010–2012 models that can cause a short circuit and start an engine compartment fire, even with the vehicle parked and off.

The other significant issue runs across the entire 2007–2012 model range: engine oil can leak from the front cylinder bank valve cover gasket onto the alternator, disabling the charging system. When that happens, a warning light comes on, and if driving continues, the engine can stall and refuse to restart. An earlier repair attempt for this defect on 2007–2012 vehicles did not fully resolve the problem, leading to a follow-up recall to address the same oil leak. The 2007 model year is specifically included in this valve cover gasket issue.
