The 2011 Hyundai Veracruz has 3 recalls, the most serious being an oil leak from the valve cover gasket that can drip onto the alternator, knock out the charging system, and cause the engine to stall while driving.
A separate recall covers the anti-lock brake control module, which can overheat and start an engine compartment fire whether the vehicle is parked or moving. Prior repair attempts for the valve cover gasket leak did not fully resolve the issue, which is why two of the three recalls address the same underlying problem: oil reaching the alternator, the charging system warning light coming on, and the engine eventually losing power.
