The fuel pump failure can introduce debris into the fuel system, cutting power mid-drive, while the delaminating tone wheel disrupts the engine's ability to coordinate fuel injection and camshaft timing, stalling the engine. There is also a rearview camera concern affecting certain vehicles with 8.4-inch or 12-inch displays: when the driver shifts out of reverse, the camera image can linger on screen and distract from what is ahead.
