The 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee has 3 recalls, both of the more serious ones affecting only diesel-equipped models: a failing high-pressure fuel pump can starve the engine of fuel and cut drive power without warning, and a crankshaft position sensor component can delaminate and cause the engine to stall.
Both diesel engine issues apply to vehicles with the 3.0L diesel. The fuel pump failure can introduce debris into the fuel system, cutting power mid-drive, while the delaminating tone wheel disrupts the engine's ability to coordinate fuel injection and camshaft timing, stalling the engine. There is also a rearview camera concern affecting certain vehicles with 8.4-inch or 12-inch displays: when the driver shifts out of reverse, the camera image can linger on screen and distract from what is ahead.
