Both diesel-specific issues involve the engine losing the ability to run normally while the vehicle is in motion. In the first, a sensor component that helps time the fuel injectors and camshaft can break apart internally, causing the engine to stall without warning. In the second, the high-pressure fuel pump can fail and shed debris into the fuel system, starving the engine of fuel and cutting drive power. The third recall applies to a much broader range of vehicles and affects the rearview camera: when shifting out of reverse, the camera image can linger on the 8.4-inch or 12-inch display instead of switching away, leaving the driver looking at an outdated view of what is behind the vehicle rather than current surroundings.
