The 2018 Kawasaki ZX1002A has 3 recalls, the most serious involving an under-greased rear hub bearing that can fail and lock up the rear wheel, raising the risk of a crash.
Two other engine-related concerns round out the list. A separate recall addresses a condition where the engine can stall while riding, which can leave the rider without power in traffic. There is also a software issue in the engine control unit: if a gear misengagement occurs, the ECU cannot suppress high RPM during the event, which can damage the transmission gears and potentially lock up the engine, making it impossible to shift.
