The 2003 Kia Sedona has 5 recalls, the most serious being a throttle cable that can freeze in cold weather and stick, preventing the engine from returning to idle and causing the vehicle to maintain speed or accelerate unintentionally. On the wheel side, moisture can build up around the rear hub caps on models with alloy wheels and damage the outer wheel bearing, which can fail without warning and cause a crash. The ABS control module also has a programming error that reduces braking force at speeds below 25 mph, stretching stopping distances and raising the risk of a collision.
