2022 KIA TELLURIDE Recalls — Canada & USA

The 2022 Kia Telluride has 8 recalls, the most serious being three separate fire risks: a front power seat motor that can overheat and ignite, a tow hitch wiring harness that can short and catch fire, and a driveshaft that may not fully engage in Park, allowing the vehicle to roll away. On the driveshaft issue, the intermediate shaft and right front driveshaft can sit partially disengaged, meaning the vehicle may roll even when the driver believes it is securely parked. The seat fire risk affects power-adjustable front seats where a stuck slide knob causes the motor to overheat. The tow hitch fire risk affects vehicles equipped with a Genuine Kia 4-pin hitch harness, where moisture and debris can short the circuit board on the harness module. There is also a tire mismatch on at least one vehicle where the wrong spare was installed, which can prevent the anti-lock brakes and traction control from working correctly. The remaining recalls all involve the instrument cluster display going blank at startup, which can hide the speedometer, gear selector, and warning indicators. Prior repair attempts did not fully resolve this display issue, which is why multiple filings address it.
