A separate but related concern affects the same power front seats: the recliner mechanism may not have been built correctly, allowing the seat back to shift or loosen in a crash. The spare tire on certain vehicles is also the wrong size, which can interfere with the anti-lock brakes and traction control when the spare is in use, reducing the vehicle's ability to stop or maintain grip in an emergency. On the exterior, door belt molding trim can delaminate and fall off the vehicle, creating a road hazard for other drivers.
