The first seat belt issue affects the third-row center position, where the anchor buckle may not latch fully. A buckle that appears clicked in but is not properly engaged will not hold an occupant during a collision. The second belt issue affects the driver's seat belt retractor, which can lock up and prevent the strap from pulling out at all. A belt that won't extend cannot be worn correctly and won't restrain the driver in a crash. Note that the driver belt recall applies to both standard and Hybrid versions of this vehicle, while the third-row buckle issue affects certain vehicles across the lineup. On the seating side, a separate recall covers second-row power seats on Telluride Hybrid SX Prestige and X-Line SX Prestige trims equipped with the Executive Package. These seats can fail to sense contact with a person and continue moving after touching an occupant, which can trap a person, particularly a child, between the seat and another surface during a one-touch tilt, slide, or fold-and-stow operation.
