The 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Sport has 7 recalls, with the most serious being a water intrusion problem that causes the rearview camera to show a distorted image or go blank while backing up, reducing visibility behind the vehicle.
Several of these recalls address the same underlying camera issue across different filings, and prior repair attempts did not fully resolve the problem for all affected vehicles, requiring a second round of repairs. This recall only affects vehicles equipped with the surround camera system. Separate from the camera, the automatic emergency braking system can shut itself off without alerting the driver, meaning the system may not intervene in an impending collision and the driver has no way of knowing it is inactive. There is also a software issue with the automatic high beam feature, which can switch on without showing any indicator on the instrument cluster, leaving the driver unaware the high beams are active and potentially blinding oncoming drivers.
