The 2013 Lexus GS 350 has 6 recalls, the most serious involving a low-pressure fuel pump that can fail and cut engine power without warning, and a brake pedal pressure switch that can apply the brakes on its own without lighting the brake lights.
The fuel pump issue can cause the engine to run rough, fail to start, or stall while driving. The brake switch problem is separate but equally concerning: when it fails, the car can begin decelerating on its own while giving no warning signal to drivers behind, raising the risk of a rear-end collision. There is also a steering recall affecting vehicles from a specific early production window, where the variable gear ratio steering system can leave the steering wheel off-center after the car is restarted with the wheels turned. A driver pulling away from a parked position may not notice the misalignment until the car moves in an unexpected direction.
