The 2015 Lexus RC F has two recalls, both involving the fuel system: one where a cracked high-pressure fuel pump cover can leak fuel and create a fire risk, and one where a failing low-pressure fuel pump can cause a sudden loss of engine power while driving.
The high-pressure fuel pump issue involves a pulsation damper that can develop a fatigue crack in the pump cover under certain operating conditions, allowing fuel to escape near potential ignition sources. The low-pressure pump failure can cause the engine to run rough, refuse to start, or cut out unexpectedly on the road, with the check engine light potentially illuminating as a warning. Both recalls apply to vehicles equipped with the 5.0L V8 engine.
