The power loss issue stems from a low-pressure fuel pump that can fail, causing the engine to run rough, refuse to start, or cut out without warning. The second concern affects vehicles with the 5.0L V8 engine, where a component inside one of the two high-pressure fuel pumps can crack its cover, allowing fuel to escape near potential ignition sources.
