The 2012 McLaren MP4-12C Spider has 3 recalls, the most serious involving the passenger-side airbag inflator, which can rupture or explode and send metal fragments into the cabin, causing serious injury or death.
Both airbag recalls cover the same underlying defect and together affect vehicles registered across a range of high-humidity states and U.S. territories. The third recall affects certain Spider and Coupe models originally sold or registered in the Gulf Coast states, where the wiper motor can fail and leave the driver without a functioning windshield wiper in rain, reducing visibility and raising the risk of a crash.
