The 2015 Mercedes-Benz C Class has 5 recalls, the most serious involving a loose fuel pump assembly that can cause the engine to stall and lose power, or leak fuel and start a fire. At the same severity level, a steering column assembled incorrectly can allow the sliding shaft to disengage from the steering coupling socket, producing noise and play in the wheel before potentially causing a total loss of steering control. A separate powertrain recall affects only AMG C 63 models: the rear axle differential mounting flange can fracture under hard acceleration, as the stability control software fails to detect the torque peaks causing the stress. On the steering side, a software error in the electric power steering control unit can unexpectedly cut power assist at low speeds, requiring significantly more physical effort to turn the wheel. There is also a compliance recall involving missing headlamp adjustment screw caps on certain vehicles, which do not meet Canadian lighting standards.
