The 2018 Mercedes-Benz C Class has 5 recalls, the most serious affecting C 63 models where a faulty locknut in the steering rack can cause the steering to lock up, potentially causing a crash.

The remaining recalls split across structural, restraint, and electrical concerns. On the body side, the rear window may not be properly bonded and can separate from the vehicle while driving, becoming a hazard for other road users. Two recalls involve the front seats and restraints: on coupe and cabriolet models, the seatbelt buckle sensors can misread a buckled belt as unfastened, preventing the pretensioner from firing in a crash; and on vehicles with AMG Performance Seats, a weld between the seat backrest rail and its metal fitting may not hold, allowing the backrest to break free from the seat frame in a crash. There is also an electrical concern: the 12-volt battery mounting bracket may not secure the battery firmly, so in a crash the battery can shift, disconnect, or detach entirely, cutting power to systems designed to protect occupants after an impact.
