The 2023 Mercedes-Benz CLS 450 has 3 recalls, the most serious being a loose 48-volt ground cable connection in the engine compartment that can overheat and start a fire.
The fuel system also has a concern: the fuel pump can shut down without warning, cutting drive power while the vehicle is in motion and leaving the driver unable to accelerate or maintain speed in traffic. The third recall involves the exit warning system, which uses sensors to detect approaching vehicles when a door is being opened. A software error can prevent the system from delivering its audio and visual alerts, so an occupant stepping out may not be warned about a passing car or cyclist.
