The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC Class has 3 recalls, the most serious involving a transmission wiring harness that can be damaged by contact with the front driveshaft, cutting power to the wheels and raising the risk of a crash.
On the safety equipment side, certain vehicles equipped with electronically unlockable rear seat backrests have a defective lock on the left-rear seat. In a crash, cargo shifting forward from the trunk can load the backrest and force the lock to fail, allowing the backrest to tilt forward into the passenger area. There is also a lighting concern: the headlamps on some vehicles were set incorrectly at the factory, which can reduce what the driver sees ahead at night and cast glare into the eyes of oncoming drivers.
