The 2022 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 4500 has 6 recalls, the most serious including a partition wall that may be missing bolts and can break loose in a crash, and a transmission parking pawl that can fail to engage and allow the van to roll away.
On the safety equipment side, vehicles equipped with electrically adjustable front swivel seats have a wiring issue that can prevent the front side airbags from deploying in a crash. There is also a bonding concern affecting certain vehicles where windows and interior lashing rails may not be sufficiently adhered to the body, meaning a window can detach in a crash or secured cargo can break free from a rail. Two instrument cluster issues round out the list: the display can go completely blank at startup, hiding speed, fuel level, and warning indicators, and on certain vehicles the cluster brightness cannot be adjusted and may appear too bright in low-light conditions, making the display harder to read.
