The 2005 Nissan Quest has 3 recalls, the most serious involving the third-row seat and a curtain airbag that may not protect occupants properly in a crash.

The third-row folding seat uses a striker bracket on each side of the seat cushion to lock the seat in its raised position. If the weld holding the striker to its mounting bracket breaks, the striker can separate, meaning the seat may not stay secured during a collision and could fail to properly restrain rear passengers. A separate recall covers the third-row curtain airbag on the driver's side, which on some vehicles was installed slightly out of position during assembly. As a result, the airbag can deploy late or inflate off-angle, reducing how well it shields a rear occupant's head in a side impact. The third recall involves the second-row seat adjustment mechanism, which has exposed moving parts along the rear inside edge of the seat. When someone reaches in to adjust the seat position, a finger can get caught in the mechanism and be pinched.
